Eat Mindfully (excerpt from Oxygen magazine, August 2009)
1. Eat when you are hungry. – If only a specific food can satisfy you, it is probably a craving.
2. Stop eating when you are full. – Decide how hungry you are before you start eating and stop eating when you are moderately full… not stuffed)
3. Focus on each bite, not the whole meal. – Pause between bites to enjoy the taste of your meal.  This mindset will allow you to slow down and stop eating when you are full.
4. Minimize distraction. – Turn off the tv and put down the book or paper when you are eating, give your attention to the task at hand, eating.
5. Keep a log of how your surroundings impact your eating. – Recognize your food triggers and eliminate them.

The Regional CrossFit Games 2010 is less than 5 weeks away!  We are sending a team to compete and represent CrossFit Castle Rock.  We have talked of team tryouts, in order to fill a team.  These are workouts for all of us but if you want to be considered for the team and have your wod “count” then you have to be “counted”.  We have 2 workouts to be completed on the same day, with a max rest period of 30 minutes between wods.  We respect and understand that it is difficult to coordinate schedules with everyone and just set a day and time, so we are opening up the week ahead for this mini “competition”.  If you are interested, please contact Spencer, Dan or Shannon and make an appointment, which works for all involved.  We are extending this through the week, with Saturday morning, April 3rd being the absolute last option for your workout to “count”.  This Friday, will put us one month out from the games and we need to be training together toward the goal of an awesome competition!!!

In addition, if you would like to volunteer for the event (April 30 – May 2), please let Fran know if you are signed up or if you are having any issues signing up and we will do everything possible to get you involved!
